Muisc Festival

This year Wye Float promise to bring you the very best Herefordshire has to offer regarding talent and entertainment. This year located within our main events area you will find a humongous inflatable dome and this is where you will be able to watch our incredible line up all day and all night from 10am till 10pm. So, make sure you plan ahead and book your camping early. This can be arrange by contacting Hereford Rowing Club. 1.9 Mile Inflatable Float 

The float will begin at Hereford Rowing Club, which if you don't know already that's where you will find our main stage and our incredible entertainments area. The distance is pretty simple, go with the flow and paddle downstream for approximately 1.9 miles. This has taken participants anywhere between 1 hour and 3 hours to complete, It is not a competition. You are guaranteed to see many local sights including the; Old Bridge, Hereford Cathedral and King Georges and the Bartonsham Dairy Fields from a distance. Once completed, there will be a short walk, guided by our volunteers to a nearby shuttle bus service which will take you back to the main events area. Please watch the videos below.

Inflatable Float Rules 

  • All participants taking part in the float must be at least 12 years old.

  • Approved buoyancy aids must be worn by all under 18's and over 18s should. 

  • If you are supervising anyone under the age of 18, make sure that you can see them clearly at a distance of at least 10m (If you wear glasses, please wear them during the event).

  • Ensure all your group can swim at least 25m, without any aids.

  • Please use the designated points to enter or leave the water.

  • Participants must remain in their crafts.

  • Alcohol is prohibited on the river to prevent any health risks or environmental damage.

  • Respect the surrounding areas - do not drop litter or leave you floats behind.

  • Look out for other participants and call for help if required.

  • Avoid going through bushes, trees or anything which could cause your inflatable to pop or put yourself or others in danger.

  • Buoyancy Aids must stay on and should only be taken off once on a solid landing point.

  • Strictly no diving or jumping along the route.

  • Please do not pass the exit point, if you do pass it you do so at your own risk.

  • Please hand in any rubbish, including any unwanted vessels or inflatables.

Please note camping arrangements are organised and managed by Hereford Rowing Club. Wye Float management has no responsibility over your bookings and any issues but be raised with them at the first instant. 

Ticket Policy

Print off or download your e-ticket and bring it to the box office on the day of the event, this will then be exchanged for a wristband.  We just need to be able to scan the QR code (the funny black and white square thing).

Timings (May change due to COVID-19)

  • 0900 - Car park will open for participants.

  • 1100 - Float will begin.

  • 1445 - 1500 - Final Floats.

  • 1730 - Last Shuttle bus from finish point.

  • 1730- 2200 - Event afterparty (main events area).

  • 2200 - Event closes.

Children Under 18

Children under 18 years olds taking part in the float must be accompanied by a responsible adult (over 18) bearing a valid ticket, whose contact number will be written on the wristbands of the teens taking part. Teens remain the responsibility of the adult at all times.  If leaving the site, children and teens must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Under 12s are not permitted to take part.

  • Glass or Alcohol in the main arena

  • Unauthorised professional recording equipment

  • Portable laser equipment and pens

  • Drones

  • Fireworks, flares or Chinese Lanterns

  • Confetti Cannons

  • Unauthorised external generators (and strictly no petrol generators)

  • Fire pits, open fires or anything that will cause damage to the ground

  • Anything that could be reasonably considered for use as a weapon

  • Large sound systems

Alcohol // Drugs

You may be refused entry to our event, if our security team deem you to be intoxicated or in possession of any restricted items including alcohol or drugs then we have the right to refuse entry and report you to the local authority if required. Our security team will be extremely active in looking for individuals who may be breaching the restrictions.
